Every year, as soon as it gets cold, you turn on your furnace. When that next energy bill comes from your electric or gas company, the price is astronomical. It is more than you afford and it is more than the bill was at the same time last year. Why do these utility companies charge so much? There are two reasons for this. One, because few companies take advantage of cheap, renewable energy resources such as solar and wind power. And two, utility companies charge high prices because they can.
When we say energy saving hour it doesn’t only mean that we are only saving energy. We are also saving water. The most common source of energy comes from hydropower. Since water is a common source of our energy it means if we don’t have enough supply of water we have less supply of electricity too. With this fact, it’s telling us that we need to conserve water as possible. Examples would be fixing our water line that have leaks or damaged or minimizing our shower time. If it takes about 10 minutes to take a shower then you can minimize it to 5 minutes if it’s okay with you. Through this you are conserving a lot of water.
It is often presumed that self-sufficiency in energy is only for nerds, but this is not true, it is now within the reach of every family or household. If you have lots of money, a solar or wind powered system will cost you about $45,000 and it will take about ten years to recover your investment by getting off the grid. However, you can have the same apparatus for much less than half that amount.
Buy pre-owned fashion. If you do want to buy something, shop vintage. When you buy used clothing, you’re recycling it, saving it from the landfill. And it required no additional resources sustainable energy to produce it.
Optimize your computer. When you optimize your computer, you clean the clutter out of the system and make the system more compact so your computer can run faster, thus saving you energy. Software necessary for optimizing your computer can be downloaded for free.
We also know that several civilizations tracked the sun and stars. The ancient Greeks use passive solar designs in their housing as early as 400 BC. The Romans improved on this design using glass to trap warm air. The Romans were the first to us glasshouses for growing plants and seeds.
The U.S. is definitely not immune to the possibility of what is know as hyper inflation. This is where the costs of everyday goods go through the roof. The result is the loss in value of the American dollar. If this happens, the dollar will only buy a fraction of what it can buy today.
The cost of the making your own panels is low and your how-to guide is reasonably priced; — so the overall cost to build your solar panel is not expensive.
