Everybody likes the feeling of inspiration. When we are inspired we feel like we can accomplish anything! Our energy level rises, our attitude and productivity improve, our mind is sharpened, and we physically feel better.

A major pet peeve of music industry professionals is getting an email they didn’t ask for with your music attached to the email. There’s no quicker way to clog up someone’s inbox than with large attachments they weren’t asking for in the first place.

A wealth of inspiration can be found on a Special Olympics track field, particularly if you know and understand the life and trials of a runner who just won a gold medal. Perhaps you know of a teenager, who finally took control of her life, after years of abuse and addiction. You hear how successful her work in mentoring others with addictions has inspired her to give motivational speeches. In doing so, she inspired many to get help to quit addictive behaviors and to get their lives back on track. inspiration may be found in your neighborhood, even on your block. Is it the child who receives another puppy, after her other dog died? Possibly, inspiration was finding the words to encourage and provide compassion to a married couple who were on the brink of separation.

Likewise, what good to have a match or lighter flaming up, but nothing to feed the fire to keep it going? (Ever read Jack London’s short story, “To Build a Fire”?) Fire with no fuel is fairly useless.

Headlights only allow you to see a few feet ahead. Cooperate with your inspiration the way you do the headlight on your car. Accept inspiration may show up in a small or large vista of clarity. Your work is to follow the inspiration, not judge the end result of where it is leading you.

Like with big budget Hollywood movies, you want to make sure that the music that you pick goes along with the mood of the podcast. For instance, you don’t want music with a fast heavy metal beat if you’re talking about something somber.

Explore around the city and you will find excellent entertainment without spending a lot.
