Blogging is a great way to make money online. Blogs tend to perform well in the search engines and they are easy to promote. Writing new content and updating your blog on a regular basis is key. You provide new content for your readers and the search engines. If you have good quality information, then you can find yourself with a good following of loyal readers that will subscribe to your RSS feed and read your blog regularly.

To be a legitimate part of the community, you need to be reading and interested in the opinions and postings of other members – even if that is a select, high-end, few. Read what others are saying and comment: blogs, tweets, Facebook updates, LinkedIn news, etc. Use the search function. Find and save the links that let you track current hot topics of discussion. Using the tools properly and saving the search results as bookmarks will save you time and let you go straight to what interests you.

These are great “in between” posts since they are so short. They are normally between 250 and 450 words, (an exception to the 500-750 words your usual online blogs should be). Just find a great bit of new information to share with your audience and post it as a quick tip. The tip should be focused on one key area of a niche and give just enough detail to answer a problem or make life easier for the reader.

Now that you have all of this information, you can prepare a proposal that targets the client’s concerns. Include bits of research in your proposal. Doing so will show the client why you have made certain choices. It will also show that you have already put a lot of time into creating an effective plan for the company. Don’t worry about charging for the information in your proposal. Just think of it as a relationship builder that will attract more clients now Business profiles and in the future.

These work really well. People absolutely love stories about other people… just think of reality TV shows and how popular they are with people of all age groups… all over the world.

This is one of my favorite methods for finding dofollow blogs and other linking opportunities. Here’s what you do. Search in Google with the main keywords in your niche. Note the top 10 (or 5 or 20, it doesn’t matter) website URLs. Then go to Yahoo! Site Explorer and display the incoming links to that particular URL. Go to each URL, especially if it’s a blog (indicated often by the word “blog” in the title), and then go to those Read my post.

Link your blog to your websites v.v. People often forget that it’s the linking that makes the Internet work. Linking all your sites, even the free ones, together can boost your link popularity. Since blogs are a lot of fun you sometimes forget to link to and from them. Don’t let this happen to you.

You must be consistent! A blog that makes money isn’t something that you can just throw up and then ignore for a week or a month. You must be consistent and update a lot so that people keep coming back and your traffic stays where it needs to be.
