The question of which is best, a website or a blog has a different answer today than it might have a few years ago. As the saying goes “the more things change the more they stay the same”. This holds true when discussing the differences between websites and blogs.
If you’re a product-based business, always make sure they actually feature products on the blog before you pitch something. If they do, check their About section, their Contact section, and/or look for a Review Policy section. Most blogs that accept product reviews or features list the information on how to pitch to them somewhere on the site.
While that explains some of the social aspect of it, the journal aspect is no longer the sole reason people start Discover and be inspired. Creating a blog is an inexpensive and relatively easy way to get started online. People, companies, businesses, writers are adding blogs as a way to keep people informed. Many are using blogs as a way to add a bit more income.
Guest Blogging is a powerful internet marketing tactic, that’s if you really understand what you are doing and how to go about it. I have a friend that concentrates on guest Blogging; in fact, 90 percent of his marketing resources and efforts are directed towards getting his articles published on other blogs; and this tactic made him a success.
Blogs have communities of their own. There are blog networks, blog directories, and lists of friends in most blog accounts. You’d be able to expose your main website’s link to a brand new audience because of this.
Update your blog (and articles) regularly. The more frequently you update your blogs, the more visitors you can get to keep on coming back. Nobody likes a blog that is updated only once or twice a month. As usual, internet readers are always looking for something new and relevant.
So there you have it: everything you need to know to get started as a freelance blogger today. Create a blog, make some entries, get a gig. Good luck with your blogging career. If you’re a born blogger, you can turn your freelance blogging into a full-time career.
