Inspiration means being driven towards achieving your goals and ambitions. The thing that drives you holds a great amount of significance in your life and determines how successful you are in terms of career and personal relationships. Inspiration also determines the peace of mind that you have and also your confidence levels.

Fact: You need to keep on track to reach your destination, but if you haven’t got a map, then what track are you on? Without a strategy it is far too easy to stray from your intended destination, your intended goal. If you haven’t got a good map or navigation system you might find that all of a sudden you have come back to the place you started from. You can have all the motivation in the world, but if you leave home without knowing where you are going or how far you have travelled, you’re going to feel lost and discouraged and more than likely, you will give up.

Of course make your primary goal, BUT, make smaller goals and stick to those. The smaller goals will add up and eventually you’ll end up reaching your primary goal as a result! For example, set a goal to exercise for at least 30 minutes for 4 days within the next 7 days.

Read or listen to something inspiration al. Two things I read everyday, my bible and an e-mail I get from RunnersWorld; the RW quote of the day. When I open the RW e-mail, it is very aptly entitled “Daily Kick in the Butt.” Short little quotes from people who run. Few are professional runners. They have various occupations, they all just happen to run. Biographies are also a great source of look at my lives. If you don’t have time to read, rent or purchase an audiobook to listen to during your daily commute.

Once in a new surrounding with fresh scenes of inspiration be prepared to experiment and try new things. Use techniques you wouldn’t usually try and allow the ideas to flow freely. Linked to this is practise. Try something that appeals to you then keep practising until you start achieving what you had in mind. It’s the outside the box thinkers who come up with unique ideas because they aren’t afraid to experiment.

Another energy source of inspiration is when we do things for the good of other people. These people represent our strength and positive energy. If we want to change their lives or make a difference in them for the better then they become our source of inspiration. Their needs drive us to our end goals and fuel our ambition because we know that the results we would get can change lives. During a state of dankness this is a great source of inspiration.

Now and again you just need to step back and take a breather to get your inspiration back. If you see that you are not getting inspiration despite where you are looking then it is definitely time you stepped far from the airbrush art for awhile. Take a few hours to act except that airbrushing and let your mind go for awhile. You will be astonished how rapidly your inspiration comes back and creative juices start flowing when you simply take a breather.
