With so many blackberry games to choose from I thought I would highlight the very best games that I have played on the device. With so many options to choose from it was difficult to boil it down to these top 5 but I assure you that you cannot go wrong with any of these titles.
Glitches – First game I played on my Xbox 360 it simply froze ten minutes into the match. I had to restart the console. Not a good first impression if I must say. That’s not all, almost every match I played had stuttering issues and framrate drops. Connections issues in game are apparent. Finding matches were easy to find on the Xbox 360. Battlefield 3’s beta does have quite a bit of issues on the Xbox 360 regarding freezing, glitching and stuttering. Good thing, it’s a beta and DICE has time to fix the kinks before the game ships in a few weeks.
The basic premise of the game is pretty straightforward: the lead player opens a round by playing a trick, and players take turns playing tricks that are of the same kind and larger in value than the previously played trick. Once everyone passes the player who played the Combat archery last trick wins all the cards played that round and he gets to start a new round by playing any trick in his hand. For example, Player A opens a round with a pair of 4’s. Player B passes because he either does not have any pairs in his hand or chooses not to play them. Player C plays a pair of 7’s. Player D then plays a pair of Queens. After everyone else passes (opting not to play anymore pairs), Player D wins the round and claims all the cards on the table, and then starts a new round by playing a full house.
A silly card game probably invented to keep kids out of trouble, Spoons is a bluffing game (with some elements of matching) that uses simple kitchen utensils as an added play element. The first player in the group to draw a poker style four of a kind reaches to a pile of spoons in the middle of the table, signalling the other players to grab for one. Since there’s one less spoon than players, one player will be left out every time. So its a social interaction game, and not a game chock full of card strategy. its still fun. Great date night game.
Fastpitch softballs are slightly larger than baseballs and may be 11″ or 12″ in diameter. A baseball is about 9″. When softball was invented, a 16″ ball was used and the fielders did not use gloves. That tradition carries on today in Chicago. Fastpitch softballs weigh 6.5 ounces while baseballs weigh 5 ounces. While softballs may be white like baseballs, since 2002, the official color of the fastpitch softball has been “optic yellow,” similar to tennis balls.

This is the simple children’s card matching game we all remember from our childhood. You can play Go-fish with as many players as you have cards. Some people claim Go-Fish is a variation of Rummy but the simplicity of the game and the children’s game gimmick make it likely just some toy company’s creation. Strangely enough, Go-fish is known as Literature in some parts of the world. Write in if you understand that one.
Puzzle Quest: Warlords – Think Bejeweled with rpg elements. Same basic concept of matching similar colored jewels but this game puts a twist on it by putting you head to head against an opponent. As you build your level and match up long strings of gems you will cause more damage to your adversary and lower their hit points. The first one to lose all of their hit points loses the match. This is a great game and is just as good as the Nintendo DS version.
